The North Face Never Stop Exploring Series

Mark Synnott, Rock Climber
Life on the Vertical

Mark Synnott has a mission: seek out and climb the world’s most remote cliffs. For Mark, the journey is as important as the climb, and his quest has taken him to the Arctic, Asia’s Karakoram Mountains, and Amazonian jungles. Exploring seldom-seen places is his specialty: most recently he discovered the Ennedi desert of Chad in North Africa, where he and his team of top-notch climbers made first ascents of surreal and other-worldly rock spires and arches. Mark is a skilled raconteur who tempers his tales of high adrenalin with droll humor. Featuring breathtaking images, this evening with Mark is a celebration of adventure.

VIP Reception tickets, which include preferred seating, a meet & greet with Mark, beer, wine and light food will be held at The North Face Breckenridge, 322 South Main Street, 970-453-1613.  Ticket sales will benefit Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. August 13-16, 2011

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) is a Colorado based Not-for-Profit with a thirty-four year history of providing adapted outdoor recreation opportunities for people who are routinely excluded from participation in outdoor activities due to factors such as injury, disease, developmental or  birth issues, psychological conditions and mental illness, and social or economic challenges.  Providing services to people and families living with brain injury has been a core element of our Wilderness Program throughout the BOEC’s history.  Our client base includes children, youth and adults.  Our venue is the western United States where we partake in classic adventure activities such as; hiking, rafting, skiing, climbing and backpacking.

Who:  With this program the BOEC extends a special welcome to military veterans who have sustained an injury in the service of their country and their family members.  The program is designed to accommodate veterans who have sustained a moderate to significant injury which has resulted in the veteran being unable to continue in active service, but willing and able to engage in adventurous and adapted outdoor activity.  Participants must be non-violent and enjoy other people.  Behaviors such as verbal outbursts, perseveration, or other forms of communication are welcomed. Children as young as 8 years old are welcome

What:  A great adventure in Breckenridge, Colorado for you and your family.  The BOEC will provide lodging in their Scott Griffith Lodge, which is a large family style cabin.  From there we offer classic adventures such as hiking, rock climbing, rafting, and the ropes course for day activities.   In the evening some time to reconnect with your family with games, camp fires, canoeing and relaxation time in the Rocky mountains.
