Paralympic Sport BreckenridgeIn partnership with US Paralympics, the BOEC has established a new program, Paralympic Sport Breckenridge.  The Paralympic Sports Program makes it possible for people of all ages with a physical disability to increase independence, improve self-confidence, and to socially integrate themselves through structured individual and team sports and competition. Currently the BOEC Paralympic Sports Club is focusing on alpine and nordic skiing opportunities and trainings. As time goes on we wish to incorporate other outdoor adventure sports into our program.

 

Paralympic Sports Club

Stephanivictorslalom_dougpensinger_gettyThe BOEC has been awarded the status as a U.S. Paralympic Sports Club (PSC) by the U.S Paralympics. Paralympic Sports Club Breckenridge now joins a national network of Paralympic Sports Clubs designed to improve the grassroots level participation in sports for people with physical disabilities. The U.S. Olympic Committee’s Paralympic Division provides the opportunity to use Paralympic marks in promoting the Breckenridge Club, and provides opportunity to co-brand Paralympics with the BOEC. The primary objectives of of Paralympic Sports Clubs include:

As a member of this network of Paralympic Sports Clubs, BOEC will be conducting introductory clinics, trainings and competitions. These experiences will give the physically disabled community, their friends, family and colleagues an opportunity to sample the benefits of participating in competitive sports or physical activity.
