Heroic Military Family Green River Trip, Gates of Lodore

August 1, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - August 7, 2018 @ 12:00 pm

This Program is Currently Wait Listed for 2018.

BOEC would like to extend a special welcome to all military veterans and their families.  This once in a lifetime experience will be shared as a bonding time unlike any other. A family that plays together stays together. BOEC strives to create a positive and safe atmosphere while paddling through class III rapids, setting up camp, cooking meals and enjoying what this historic stretch of river has to offer. Children as young as 10 years old are welcome.

This 6 day, 5 night trip will be conducted down a 46 mile stretch of the Green River through Lodore, Whirlpool and Split Mountain Canyons, all within Dinosaur National Monument in NW Colorado/NE Utah. Staring at the Gates of Lodore, the gateway to adventure, the river cuts through the Uinta Mountains meandering 18 miles to the confluence of the Green and the Yampa, twisting through canyons that are paved with history of John Wesley Powell and finishing in desert country.  Emerald green water, lush canopy beaches & camps, class III rapids, ancient rock art and beautiful scenery will be highlights of the trip.

Cost:  No cost for all on-course activities, though a $50 deposit is required to hold a spot, refunded upon attendance, non-refundable if cancelled by participant.
